Post by Heero »

Is anyone thinking of playing this game? I might pre purchase in the next couple days to maybe try this weekend's beta. Any feedback?

I am, for the most part, fairly burnt out on MMOs in general. I am not big on PvP and from what I have seen, Guild Wars 2 does not really seem to do much different from the standard MMO fare that World of Warcraft brought to the genre.

I am waiting and seeing. If they do a trial period (or if someone tosses me a beta key) I will try that route first.

Been keeping an eye on it but I doubt I'll have the time to make it worth while. Curse that Steam sale...

I've been playing this for a while now. I was an avid GW1 fan (I still play it now, with my A/W Triple Chop build) and found the PvP to be great, and GW2 is no different to me.

Funnily enough, I have come across players with the tag [ALFA] on the server I plan to roll on when the game goes live -- of course, I took full advantage of getting the head start promotion as well. :D
Part of ALFA since May 2000.

My impressions are this seems like a good time waster. Am I the only one playing?

So is minesweeper!
People talk of bestial cruelty, but that's a great injustice and insult to the beasts; a beast can never be so cruel as man, so artistically cruel.

I quit playing Minesweeper years ago when I failed to defeat my younger brother's 80-something second Expert score. It was simply too frustrating to continually fail at defeating his score.

Minesweeper; 10x10 Expert: ~15 seconds (averaged over three games to prevent fluke click spamming results); there are only so many patterns on a 10x10 so it becomes automatic after a while. Must have logged several thousand games years ago. Sad, eh. Just tried it again now: 54 seconds. If you don't use it you definitely lose it.

GW2: too expensive. Will wait for it to come down in price.

10x10 is expert?

This is the 'map' of which I speak:

Is that the same thing you are playing?
