Re: East Coast ALFAcon aka ECAC - First Weekend in October,
Just confirming: arrival airport is BWI? Baltimore Washington International?
Re: East Coast ALFAcon aka ECAC - First Weekend in October,
This is the closest at ~30 minutes, yes. Dulles in DC is also relatively close at about an hours drive.

Re: East Coast ALFAcon aka ECAC - First Weekend in October,
OK, I got my ticket.
I'll be arriving on THURSDAY AFTERNOON and leaving SUNDAY AFTERNOON.
Would anyone be willing / able to meet me on Thursday at the airport around 2:40PM, and provide me with transportation and entertainment? I will offer in return entertainment, as well as financial incentives / bribes. Otherwise, I can rent a car or call one of my buddies in Baltimore to see if he wants to hang out.
I could also use a ride BACK to BWI from the campsite / whatever. My flights at 5:25PM, so arriving around 3PM would be ideal, though earlier is OK.

Re: East Coast ALFAcon aka ECAC - First Weekend in October,
Riot,
I will be unable to provide entertainment for you Thursday night. Should your buddies living in Baltimore actually live IN Bmore, the Bmore Light Rail runs from the airport (which is maybe 10 miles south of the city line) right into downtown (and actually straight thru with various stops to the last stop about 15 miles north of the city limits) - might be easier (and cheaper @ about $2 fer a ticket) than renting your own car. You can also easily get to DC via train from BWI airport. Should you be able to get yourself back to BWI on Friday afternoon, I can provide you with transportation for the remainder of the weekend by picking you up at the airport any time after 4pm or so.

Re: East Coast ALFAcon aka ECAC - First Weekend in October,
Sounds like it's time to actually put down some reservations... for those wanting cabin (I hear it gets cold up there in October), which nights and how many people are we looking at?
Re: East Coast ALFAcon aka ECAC - First Weekend in October,
I have paid non-recoverable cash for plane tickets, so you damn well better get on the ball
Count me in for 2 nights of cabin. I want my own bed, I don't care about the rest. Also, in keeping with tradition, I volunteer to run a one-off PnP game on Friday or Saturday night.

Re: East Coast ALFAcon aka ECAC - First Weekend in October,
Availability is limited at this point...
They have the $210 / night cabins (up to 6 people), and also 2 flavors of 1-room cabins ($89 and $99, up to 4 people).
Think I'm going to reserve a big one so at the least, we have a base of operations. Might be good for someone to lock in a smaller one in addition if we've got more than 6 planning to attend.

Re: East Coast ALFAcon aka ECAC - First Weekend in October,
OK, I reserved one of the "Deluxe cabins with kitchen", that will work for up to 6 of us (or more in a pinch, depending?)
Layout should be similar to the following:

I would recommend someone volunteer to reserve either a second small cabin or a campsite if it looks like everyone who has replied affirmatively is actually planning to show up... campsites should be easier than large cabins in terms of availability though (but it is a holiday weekend so, could still sell out).

We already decided that. But inside, there is the futon, and AL and I can bring air matresses.Heero wrote:Ill just sleep on the porch.
