Any underdark or exotic race can be included just fine, though the campaign will largely take place on the surface. This means you might face difficulties if you chose to play a KoS race. +disguise skill hats will not fall from the sky.
Nothing will keep involved PCs from playing outside of sessions, but out-leveling the rest of the party will be discouraged.
When: 8 pm EDT Sundays, starting on October 27th.
Please use the following tool to indicate what starting times of the week work for you: http://whenisgood.net/if8sska. Session lengths should be around 4 hours. In the "comments" section, please give a one or two sentence description of the PC concept(s) you had in mind. If you want to use an existing PC please include their level. Note: If you filled out the aforementioned form prior to August 25th, you'll need to do it over again because my hdd and ate the results. Sorry.
Expect:
- A mystery which must be pieced together by the PCs.
- To see areas of servers few or no one sees.
- Challenge. Most people know I kill a lot of PCs. A good scout will not be optional, nor will healing, nor will following plot details and problem-solving. The difficulty level should be less than what my Sword's Edge players are accustomed to facing, but still higher than most are used to.
- Meaningful death. I doubt everyone will get out of it alive, though hopefully many will. In the case of permanent PC death, a new (or existing) PC can enter the campaign.
- An NPC leader who provides hooks. PCs are of course free to ignore said hooks, but the hooks may not ignore them.
- The possibility of plot-related CvC. I'm not planning on encouraging it but I don't discourage it either.
- Unique character development (though some may develop more than others, depending on how well their concept fits with the plot).
Characters:
- Heero: Gnome druid.
- OGR: 'My Dorf -- Thorri Blackhammer -- is a "Shock." Two handed greataxe, barb/fighter. "Shields be fer sissies!"'
- kmj2587: I was planning on a wizard of the buff/battlefield control variety. I don't have character specifics yet and I'm willing to change if there end up being three or four people all trying to do the wizard thing. My second choice would be a medic, probably a cleric unless a Favored Soul would be preferred for one reason or another.
- jmecha: Argos Klax is a young human man who after serving a term in the Cimbar City State Militia is now out traveling the world as a curious explorer looking to learn from the various different people and places that make up the Realms. He is a level 1 Rogue with whom I am more then willing to risk as our primary scout, he also has dipped into a variety of Knowledges so he may help fill fill any gaps in the Party's Lore.
- Twin axes: Manly dorf flank-tank (rogue/fighter??)
- Rumple: A really, really dumb orc.
- Xanthea: Miscellaneous wizard.
- dergon: Manly dorf bear-pugilist. Favoured soul?
- Ithildur: Snobbish elf wizard. Maybe.
- Lou: ??
- Brokenbone: ??
- puny: ??
- Regas: ??
- Witchdoctor: ??
Questions?
* Assuming I get approved to DM on WHL and TSM. If not, just half-global.
** PCs higher than the median party level may start with a handicap, such as no or incomplete spellbook, missing equipment, etc.
*** This motivation probably isn't going to be strong enough to make drow and elves or Selunites and Sharrans work together.
