On the board of the inn:
Halfing sorceress from Lady's college seeking companionship. I like walking around graveyards, and hearing the rattle of chains. I talk to ghosts and have an interest in curses. I am from the western heartlands, in a land called the Greenfields.
My name is Raven

A man arrived a few weeks ago seeking Marcus Wands, and in his absence took charge of the harvest at the Wands' plantation. Some say he has taken up residence there, other rumors have him wandering the countryside.

Rumor mill is going on about a noble woman crying in the tavern, people wondering what was wrong as she was drinking herself to unhealthy.
Other news, the Argent Legion post reported that the body of a dwarf was found, and though gnawed upon, was taken to the crypts. Half a dozen gnoll ears were turned in with the dwarf and it is said they were done in by a human, with the dwarfs own axe. Witnesses said the man was covered in blood, and not looking too happy. None could be sure if any of the blood was his own.

An Argent Legion scout has reported in that overly large orc scout drew his attention from a patrol of the trade road. After tracking them back to their camp, it was discovered that a large raiding band of these extra sized heathens were camped within reach of both High Hold and the Keep. An Argent Legion troupe was dispatched to investigate and clear them out, but has not been heard back from as of yet.

If you spent any time along the Silverymoon docks or inside The Bright Blades Brandished
you might have heard a rumor about some magical fire being conjured by a strange group of wizards visiting the city. Some have expressed concern regarding this development since there were assurances that the powerful magic of the city prevented such occurrences.

Word begins to spread in Felbarr about an exotic looking, long legged, and silver eyed visitor ... a finger waggler whose quick actions saved the life of one of Felbarr's own daughters from an attack that took place en route to Silverymoon.
Further rumors say a deeply grateful kin swore on the Moradinsamin that he would find a way to repay the lass somehow, someday.

Re: Tavern Knowledge (III) - post your rumours and gossip he
A minor incident apparently took place in Rivermoot recently; a young woman stormed out of the Inn after an exchange with a man in robes and an armored woman.
Rumors suggest the woman, an attractive foreigner with an exotic nose to ear chain, ran out of the village past the guards. One guard shouted after her out of concern, but his words were only met by a rude gesture and insults against 'the backwater hellhole' of Rivermoot and it's inhabitants. She then continued on up the road eastwards at angry, brisk pace.
No one seems to have seen or heard from her since.

Word of another incident in Rivermoot: a group of adventurer types are said to have encountered a mysterious, if somewhat cliche, hooded man in dark clothes. There is some confusion about what exactly occurred, but the group is said to have returned to town badly wounded, while the man apparently remains at large.
There's some speculation going around that the hooded stranger might be tied to the missing foreigner lass. Whether this is the case or not is unknown.
When questioned, the Argent Legion officers in Rivermoot sigh and respond with comments that their usual concerns with evil humanoids and the likes are enough to worry about, without adventurers going around stirring up additional trouble.

Re: Tavern Knowledge (III) - post your rumours and gossip he
(( Sorry this rumor was not posted sooner. When it looked like ALFA's days as a PW were over, I thought it best to spare everyone the details of a long, complex campaign. Also I was totally burnt out. ))
Silvaeren still talk about the events of two moons past, when the Argent Legion marched into the Gem, ready for war and lead by the High Marshall himself, Methrammer Aerasume.
Confusion abounded, and did not abate when the soldiers marched up to the walls of the fortress-temple House Invincible. Street vendors fled the market as the High Marshall demanded the surrender of the Helmites, who demanded to know who Lady Alustriel was not with them. Harsh words were exchanged, and each side accused the other of treason and carrying the taint of some great evil. The Knights in Silver stood by, with their loyalties clearly torn, simply stood by and watched. The Spellguard were nowhere to be seen.
Battle broke out. The fighting in the streets was not particularly bloody but still a shock to all watching. The Helmites largely defended themselves and called for the Legion's surrender. Some of the Legion were said to turn on their commander, Methrammer, and attempt to take his life. Eventually the fortress gates were swung open, and the Legion poured inside. What happened next is not spoken of, but it is known a great number of the Legionaires who entered did not survive. The infamous Legion scout Maeredhel was said to have died in the attack.
The next morn another large force of Legionnaires entered the fortress, along with wagons full of grain and dried meats. They would not be seen again for some weeks, oddly returning to city from Felbarr by Silverymoon Pass.
Now House Invincible is locked and under guard at all times. High-ranking military come and go from it for time to time, as well as many of the wizards from the Lady's College. None speak of what has been seen inside...

Rumors are heard in High Hold that a body was discovered by a patrolman recently some distance west of the settlement.
Though unconfirmed, the rumors say it was the body of a human woman.

Drat! I really wanted to play last night but some familly stuff came up at the last minute... Grrr. I will try to pick up on any rumors about the jeweled dagger, or have Orrh inquire about it of the PCs, if/when he learns of her discovery.Ithildur wrote:Rumors are heard in High Hold that a body was discovered by a patrolman recently some distance west of the settlement.

A small forest fire was rumored to have broken out near Quarvaar recently, though the threat of the fire spreading seems to have been mitigated somehow. A few folks claim druids may have been involved.
Coincidentally, another rumor spreads in Quavaar in the aftermath, suggesting that a 'massacre' of some sort took place somewhere in the wilds near the settlement. Details are fuzzy; wild stories vary in detail claiming to describe the victims as everything from animals slaughtered by gnolls, to Elves from the Moonwood slain by feral humanoids, to a pack of hill giants slain by a dragon.

In Rivermoot, a girl has been reported missing.
The daughter of a local farmer, she is described as Mirela Greene, 13 years old, brown hair, freckles and pigtails. She was last seen setting off for the Wand's Estate before dawn. Although she was not there to meet the person she was going to meet, a cloaked figure was reported running from the back of the Estate, across the fields.
Anyone with information of her whereabouts should report to Argent Legion Sergeant Wilson, in Rivermoot.

It is rumored around the Lady's College that Master Arcadavera was called into the Dean's office for a 'discussion' of just how he lost three students -- or was it his entire Elementary class roster? He speaks randomly and wildly of a research field trip of importance to the entire Silver Marches. And promises that if he remembers what the destination on the teleport tokens was, the Dean will be the first to be told.
