Thinking DnD elves are Tolkien elves is a big mistake
Pretty obvious to most that have read Tolkien's books... even taking into account the fact Tolkien elves have their share of flaws.

Elaith Craulnober is indeed probably the best Elven character in FR canon. Interestingly enough, arguably one of Tolkien's own best Elven characters is tragically flawed in similar ways (gifted and willful, but tragically strayed off the path): Feanor.
It's been refreshing to sometimes see on rare occasion an elf rogue or an evil elf wander into ALFA
I thought it'd be patently obvious by now Aglaril's secretly been CE for some time. :)
Formerly: Aglaril Shaelara, Faerun's unlikeliest Bladesinger
Current main: Ky - something

RL again has cut our crew down to three-- so! Trying to pick up a couple more people, and thus the timeslot is up for negotiation.

Folk who are interested in joining the Queen Robyn in its attempts to unravel whatever horrible plot is capturing the lost and forgotten and making watery undead slaves of them can respond here--

There isn't a level restriction on this; alignments still need to be good or good-leaning neutral; the ability to stand upright on a ship in bad weather a definite plus; higher-level characters will get less XP unless/until the lower-level folk catch up (you'll still get to play, and I hope the session is fun, but it won't be a very good way to powerlevel).

Well, it looks like we have the choice between "not enough players" or "not enough players."

Guessing that most people are finding game elsewhere, so I'm going to be dropping to ad hoc DMing.

I meant to use your scheduler earlier. As it is, I can play Damien without previous attachments, but I hope to form a merc/privateer company around Zyrus eventually, and I'm saving him for that purpose.
First Character: Zyrus Meynolt, the serene Water Genasi berserker. "I am the embodiment of the oceans; serene until you summon the storm." Zyrus: http://tinyurl.com/9emdbnd

Second Character: Damien Collins, the atypical druid. "What? Being a stick in the mud is boring. No pun intended grins"

Crying shame, this!

I might be spending a little time on moonshaes with Horatio, would maybe volunteer some time on the robyn for fun. Not sure if H is considered higher level, but would qualify I think, amount of experience not important, just a chance for fun, and more important, make good impression on important people, gain comrades and allies. Influence and information are more valuable than xp points any day. He spent almost two months trying to help adanu get his whl game going and got stood up 7 of 8 times. I'm done with it. So if you would like an extra player to help out, H does have 1 point of profession in sailing if I remember correctly, possibly 2. He might be a good ringer to use to help bail out a crew low on strength, but has no interest in trying to take control or jump on for long haul.

As you know, he is a well meaning, good leaning guy, made mistakes and got a little push in the wrong direction early on, but is definitely not evil. Is however very chaotic and follows his own honor code. As such, would never sign on for more than a single voyage at a time.

So, if you are interested, I'll do what I can to make myself available for your game and help enjoy some fun. If I have advanced notice, there are few times I cannot make, just need to make arrangements to cover my responsibilities.

Cheers on you for keeping up with DMing this.

The trouble is that schedules don't line up well enough to crew a ship. If you're around on MS, I might drop in and run little things-- Moonshaes are full of magic and fey and such, which lends itself to little one-off ambush DMing things and those few who have been ambushed by my pixies/ gremlins/ brownies/ whatnot can testify to how hilarious and/or cruel they are (I do recall one setting traps that lit a certain elf on fire and then threw a pie in his face), but getting a bunch of people in the same place at the same time is proving difficult (we've got ~50 people and more than 5 active DMs; I could ramble on for pages about how weird and problematic DM coverage is as a concept, but the summary here is that trying to regroup this crew after all of the other DMs had gathered their groups leaves me with not a lot of people willing/able to relocate to get on a boat and point swords at the zombie kraken).

I recall rather fondly as well (though Aglaril might not)!

Zombie Kraken and such makes it sound like this might be open to higher levels (plus getting Horatio and Aglaril stuck on a ship together for an extended period of time could be fun)? More's the pity, I would be interested except ICly Aglaril really should be back on the Sword Coast helping hunt down a big red lizard asap.

Regardless, I'd encourage people to check this out; Zelk's an excellent DM and ship adventures are fun!

A zombie kraken is actually CR 6.

Like most creatures, the animated dead version of it is way less threatening than the regular living version of it.

I'm still interested in playing, so long as there are not skeleton krakens. Zombie krakens are fine.
