I guess that must have been it. I was able to preview and post the thread just now without any problems. Thanks Zic!

First thing I noticed, "I hate the narrow width."

Second thing I noticed, my favorite color scheme of black text on tan background! This change alone has me sold. I can adjust to the narrow width, even though I prefer to lose the bars in exchange for more text on screen to save scrolling. However I love the black on tan/beige look as I've found those colors are the easiest on the eyes for prolonged reading, and for that reason have used a similar theme on my blog.

I agree with the changes of black line to separate the signatures, very nice. I also like that you removed the line by the avatars, as it all looks very sleek at present.

As far as screenshots go, anything wider than 480-600 pixels should be a thumbnail link or something anyways. Either go with the auto-scale down route, or perhaps people can just learn how to link to content off site. There is a small learning curve involved, but if someone can figure out how to host an image online then it's only one more step to figure out how to link to it.

Thanks for the effort spent Zic (and others?), I still like it.

:yeah: :yeah:

I'm not a big fan of that approach,- drupal sort of relies on at least one sidebar,- and many since meny of the menu items are so long, and dynamic, it would be worse for usability.

Like i said in the last post, to the few of you that still can't adjust to a narrower forum design,- I can probably get you a custom URL to display it in a new window. You would obviously lose out on all the benefits of integration though,- but I would pick the subsilver2 style, which is liquid and uses the entire browser area. I still don't get why anyone would want that, but hey, that's just me.

Possible Bug:

PMs display with white backgrounds instead of tan.

What are these benefits, other than looks?

(keeping in mind you are talking to a complete n00b here)

Well, it makes it feel like it's one site, and not two. Makes it easier to get people to use the documentation and other features. Lots of good reasons in that regard.

Another excellent one is that forum users now register as beeing online on the website,- this leads to google analytics, and various other services that look at traffic increasing our ranking, which makes us more visible on the web,- and ultimately allows for a wikipedia-article,- which in turn leads to more players and DMs. So in short, integrated forums = more players.

I realize the 'views' counters don't update atm. It's a bug in the underlying code. An update should be released shortly.

So for someone who knows where all the documentation is (and even knows most of the urls by heart), the only reason is to add an extra user to the website? And then further more, given that I tend to log into the website before visiting the forums (to check applications), for someone like me, there is no gain to having an integrated forum?

Stats update every time there's a pageview.

Hey there.

I cant get my 'forum only' subsilver page up which was great for work ;)
I also cant see half the page as it's all set to the right a few inches (except the titel box). This is for forum plus mainpage as i cant see all of the text on applications either.

cheers fella

I don't understand what you mean i think. Can you try to explain in a bit more detail ?

Also, which resolution and browser ?

Is this something that changed today after forums were integrated, or has it been like that since the new design ?
