Population: 1.5-1.6 million elves.

Even with my habit of RPing elves I definitely you're right on the money with the if you get around to it. It's a great place to go begging for help or doing research, if you're an elf that is. Definitely not something I'd consider central to the server proposal though.

o.k. how about we half scotch it.....let's just play it by ear keeping in mind 2 things (1) game balance (which I think we can handle) and (2) can/will the NWN2 toolset do it justice?

Castano, please add me to the DM list in addition to being a Builder.

Thanks.

On Hosting:

we will upgrade our server specs when we have a final idea what the hosting reqiurements are. The proposal currently lists 2 GB RAm...Ronan's post mentions 4GB as a requirement to host. Thus if necessary we'll get the additional RAM.

Don't lose the Evermeet part just yet. High magic hasn't got anything to do with it (people gotta learn to separate items and the world around them. Evermeet is in no way lined by magic item stores). The only limiting thing I can see is that it's pretty hard, if not impossible to be allowed ashore if you're not an elf. Even half-elves are looked upon with suspicion there. Still, it would be really cool from an RP point of view if it was there in ALFA. Not that I'll play an elf again anytime soon.
On the other hand you have different fingers.

I think the limiting factor is lack of elven buildings...right now...but as soon as they arrive we can talk.

I'm waiting on gnome and halfling to BTW.

Once the walkmesh and ATs have basic functionality and the PWC is uploaded to the beta WorldGate, then we will look at progressing to Beta and then HDM status for Castano. Details here:

Hey ;)

Playing in the moonshaes it's like childhood dream for me ;) since i read the moonshae trilogy some....16 years back ago...

Two questions -

1. What's the estimated time to move from beta to prod?
2. As for Moonshaes firbolgs being fire giants, aren't ogres or hill giants
are more suitable?

Well, I only just moved the server from Alpha to Beta status today. Looking at roughly four months to a Live launch date.

Turns out that in the Cormanthor I'm building it is 1375 and Myth Drannor is reclaimed and being restored. That means the complete events of Last Mythal Series are included and stand as canon except for the last couple pages of the epilogue which takes place several years later.

The comment from the forums about the Last mythal series not being included in canon was from way back when the books were just being released and we didn't know the outcome or even the year they would end so it was for convenience to leave it out. But when Halrin wrote up the server proposal he decided that it would all begin after the reclaiming, thus including the events in the books. After all what s the name of 1375...The Year of the Risen Elfkin.

(apologies to Castano for any derailing)

Keep in mind that 2008 was 1375. Now that it is 2009, we are in 1376. In 2010 the year will advance again to 1377, etc.

Thanks.

since there are no new source books (at elast none I am aware of) other than the initial Darkwalker series and the FR Campaign setting, I will be taking some liberties to set up a good vs. evil conflict on the server w/ a re-risen firbolg presence and some other things - hence the fens of the fallen still looking a bit err fallen. Otherwise we wouldn't have much going on except old stories of years gone by.

I was trying to use the "lobby" area of the SoZ expansion module to recreate life aboard a ship. After fiddling around with it I decided to leave it alone. I know I'm not a builder but I wish I could contribute something. I had a whole list of jobs a player could take aboard ship. Its probably already been done but here is what I had in case it might inspire another good idea.

-Swab the Deck
-Repair the Hull
-Repair a sail
-Feed the sailors

Since creating those tasks seem so difficult I'm thinking it might be easier writing a series of conversations for a player who becomes a Captain.
Maybe a player must make critical decisions to ensure the safety of the ship?
I don't know, just some ideas that have probably already been thought up.
