Dreadful options to advance PCs...

Post by SCI-kick »

Is there anywhere in ALFA where I can take my mid-level PC and at least try to advance in level?

You must mean... Is there anywhere you can take your mid levelled pc for some RP?

Try Adanus campaign in WHL. He was advertising for level 4-8 very recently.

Some people like levels rumple, no need to put words in his mouth.

My campaign is seeking 4-8s ATM. Reading around the forum helps :p

Welcome back. Playing a war worshiping priest, yeah I think there's a lot of war-themed stuff going on in WHL.

No matter what server any midlevel is on though, you will not have much fun "alone", need to be where people are congregating, so take a peek at server numbers on given nights of the week I guess to catch a hint.

And if people are not around during your play times, there is a lot of static content you can enjoy with your mid level PC IF you don't mind taking some risks. On BG the Woods of Sharp Teeth come to mind. There are other areas as well. Look around

On TSM, the Fourthpeak area and the Moonwood are good places to challenge midlevels.

On MS, anywhere "off road" can be a fun challenge.

On WHL, most "underground" areas present some challenge, and you can find hidden DM quests.

But as Rumple said, get in a campaign (Adanu's campaign sessions are fun) or try to hook up with other players posting on the forums. You will generally get more DM attention in a group.

You have to actually log in in order to RP (or advance in levels). :) Not sure why it's so hard for you to find others to RP with given that (I think) you're in a US timezone... I don't think you ever responded to my pm btw.

True, Ithildur I haven't been playing much...mostly because my PC has been stuck at the same level for over a year. Playing is basically logging in, wandering around for a few hours solo, maybe RPing a bit, and gaining like 20XP for the day :(

I'd recommend changing style - - ALFA cannot compete for attention as a single player game, there are too many better ones out there. Finding people, soliciting that you're looking for group is all good. Casual login to like, walk point A to point B, bash 2-3 things over the head enroute, and log off at point B, is boring. I wouldn't recommend it.

Thanks for the help. I guess a lot of it has to do with the fact that my old playing group (Three Rivers Corps) disintegrated, and Olin has basically been a derelict ever since.

There's a few of us on BG who seem to be slowly coalescing into something group-like. We're around levels 5-6ish. We could totally use a priest. And I believe HEEGZ may be planning for something once he has a group together...possibly related to the Church of the Red Knight (did I get that right?).

Not related to the Red Knight specifically. I'm looking for a good opportunity to kick off a BG-wide server plot. I believe Twin Axes, Stephen, and Ithildur have mid-level PCs that might get involved, in addition to possibly the Swords Edge group. I've been really busy at work the past two weeks so I've not had the energy to get started with this. It is becoming hard to plan ahead due to holidays and xmas shopping on the weekends... Anyways, there should be some good mid-level stuff on BG, in addition to WHL soon. BG and TSM both have seen recent additions of US DMs, and Boom is DMing euro timeslots on BG now as well.

Well there's powergaming, and then there's classic Dungeons and Dragons.

In my years of gaming, I thought that advancement was a crucial element to the game.
