Newest Edition Forgotten Realms Questions

Post by Charlie »

So what books reflect the death of Mystra and all of the This Years Eddition D&D changes for the Forgotten Realms? Novels, I mean, not so much rulebooks.

No more Mazteca? There go the Tabaxii. So what took it's place? I hear it swaped places with another continent from another dimention.

I found a web-based play-by-post forum where you make your own character sheets. Wow, things have changed in 4.0. I do think that the healing-surge is a good thing, as people are harder to kill than you would think. I also like the concept of death, where 3 rounds pass, and you croak, presuming you're not past your max-negative.

Also, the "bloodied" status is an interesting addition. If a character is injured, being bloodied is a good mathematical representation of the impediments one suffers from torn ligaments and/or a cracked spine. Bloodied also adequately represents the constant pain of having golblin arrows sticking out from all over one's body.

I found a free copy of the player's handbook online and downloaded it. Looks good and allows for a wide variety of modifications by the DM. Now to find a copy of Forgotten Realms 4.0 in pdf.

as a 4E fan i recommend you to stay away from forgotten realms and embrace the core setting "points of light"

in its simplicity, its a maze of awesome, sadness and desperate loveliness

Remember how Toril (the FR world) is actually called Abeir-Toril? Well, turns out Abeir was actually a whole separate planet, and the two are now one.

I gave up on FR lore after that.

Southern Amn is also now a spaceport for starjammers, with bowless cross bows that shoot rays of heat, frost, or lines of acid. Well not really.

And thus it ceased to be Dungeons and Dragons.
