A warm welcome to Edgar who joins our ranks as a DM here.
Look forward to scheduling a session with him, he has some great ideas.

Thank you for the show of confidence in letting me join this wonderful "nuthouse".
I have been spending the last days reading up on the lores and DM materials and hope to as soon as possible start getting experience with the DM tools and the rest of the DM team, hopefully this means I can as soon as possible get some real DM-Player experience.
Thank you and look forward to experiencing ALFA in a new way.
Be gentle

Welcome! MS is to DMs as the Small Magellanic Cloud is to new stars.
There are quite a few stars in the night sky at MS now but not that many stargazers. Why isn't MS more popular? Is it the slighty confusing travel system? Is it not knowing for sure if you're taking advantage of what is in some cases weeks at sea when isle-hopping? Is it no obvious, large central hub (that isn't a slideshow)? Is it that the place is too rural/folky/Druid friendly? Is it owing to too few statics? Too much bear poo even?! It can't be for lack of content; MS has oodles of it. It can't be because the place looks like the inside of a migraine; MS has a very high average as far as build quality goes. It certainly can't be for the lack of DMs! So what is it? (Maybe this is a subject for another thread.)

Yeah, likely this is getting out of topic, but I will anyway suggest that everyone is at BG because everyone is at BG. Players are herd animals, and herd mentality obviously leads to a dynamic instability in the system of player densities. Not that BG wouldn't have awesome content, too, but in that it's certainly not alone.
Conversely, if players congregate to one place, our rules lead to DMs congregating someplace else - since you can't DM where you play and most DMs do play. And thus the rules actually work to oppose the player aggregation instability. Which is nice
Oh, also:
Welcome DM-Edgar!

Sounds like you guys have a good thing going on MS; a shame if there aren't many players about currently.
I may get a chance to at least visit soon ...hopefully.

We are plenty of players, just scattered across the time zones.

Id love to play with ya, Edgar, as you are que imaginative (and quite the looker); however, timezones are estupido.
