Can somebody point me to a description of these "new" skills? (Not the one here: http://www.d20srd.org/indexes/skills.htm ... I am looking at that).
I just have basic questions, like are these skills that are only useable in game with a DM present, or they actual events that the game engine takes into account? Because if these are in-game, then I am in awe.

Re: "New" Skills
They're most useful when a DM is present. However, some module builders have scripted content to make use of them.Wild Wombat wrote:Like Disguise.

For example, you can swim in rivers/lakes (so long as the module maintainers have implemented the ACR system to do so), which makes use of the Swim skill. You may run into static quests that make you do a skill check using these skills as well.
Re: "New" Skills
Swimming is the SHIZZLE too... loved trying that out when it was first put in.

Re: "New" Skills
finally failed a "climb" and "rope skill breakage check", after several times of going up and down into a hole. *sighs* the rest of the party did not have a single rope or grappling hook to help get me out of the hole.lol had to wait for a long while till someone got back with one to use with the automated script.

Re: "New" Skills
Hey, when creating my PC (I had lots of unintended trial runs too, lol) I noticed that in the new skill selection it listed which of the new skills were "Class" skills. Is there some place that this is listed? I did not notice it anywhere, but of course with my demonstrated incompetence, I may well have missed it too. *sigh*

Re: "New" Skills
You'll get a fair amount of the information you're looking for here, though it won't include all of the various changes ALFA has made:
- Currently NWN1 ALFA: Ryld Ky'bler
Currently NWN2: Gwindor Faelivrin, still not actually dead!
Formerly: Timyin Tim, Glorfindel Inglorion and Beleg Thalionestel amongst others.

As far as the skills, the best source for what are class skills is: http://www.d20srd.org/indexes/classes.htmWild Wombat wrote:Hey, when creating my PC (I had lots of unintended trial runs too, lol) I noticed that in the new skill selection it listed which of the new skills were "Class" skills. Click on the class, and it will give its appropriate class skill list for you.
