Yet another newbie

Greetings everyone and well met (i guess)

Time for me to wait for approval of my character. He is going to be wizard that will eventually take over the world. No wait that was the other wizard, oh well always the same goal with those people.

Joke a side - I am hoping to be accepted so Kael Devonspir the Mage Apprentice can get his breath soon.

On the personal side I am a roleplay addict like people around here I guess. Been playing Pen&Paper since mid-eighties and still do (been around a million other systems also) Been playing Mmorpgs since late nineties, started with EQ1 and been around most major games. Bought Nwn1 when it came out and played on a PW for a time back in 2004-05 and got NWN2 when that came out but never got into it. Less than a week ago I bought it again (on Steam) and have been glued to the game since.

Oh yeah when not RPing I spend the time taking care of my two boys and my wife :-)

Anyway looking forward to getting to know each and everyone of you.

Welcome to ALFA, where old PnP players come to die ...

Looking forward to seeing you ingame. :)

As a note, if you have a "concept character" that you really want to play, it sometimes help to make a couple other PCs first. Learning curve can be tough and fatal early.

Also, idividual characters need not be approved (except for "exceptional" PCs like planetouched, drow etc). So if your app, is accepted, you're in!

Call me a crappy Roleplayer but I almost ALWAYS play human characters - reason simply easier to relate to. Otherwise tinker gnomes can be fun to.

As for playing "a few" PCs first - well honestly I am hoping that I can take it slowly and survive that way. Otherwise I simply have to come up with half a million of concepts (which should take approximately 1 minut :chin: )

Anyway on the application form I wrote something about a misguided Wizard and thats what I want to try - if it fails, well its a dangerous world out there.

minutes waiting seem like hour, hours like days and days (which it most likely will take for approval) seems like a life time.

Welcome aboard. I'm sure your mage will be fine. Perhaps his misguidance will put him on the Moonshae Isles? Would love to have another player join the fun.

*waves* Welcome..check out the forums..there is many many words on the topics of Roleplaying here. IRC chat is the best place for on the spot questions. And as a Dm of many new characters, take your time, hook up with other parties and DM campaigns, and take nothing for granted here IF you want your first character to live long.

Hmmm just noticed the permadeath rule - however harsh it adds to the flavour of the game. I wasnt aware of this when I applied must admit it made me drool wildly when I realised the character is ACTUALLY a live (since (s)he can and will eventually die)

However I might take that into consideration as people suggested above when making my first character.

its going to be a blast for me when I finally arrive

Mage Phey - nah I went the true magical way with Druid ;-)

due to permDeath I opted to not start a mage to begin with hence the druid (from Chult)

Another Druid. Bravo. (And hello, BTW.) We should all set up a knitting circle somewhere and mumble about gardening over a psilocybin brew or five...
