Halp! i needz teh lootz and the XPs!

Post by ayergo »

I thought about it, and it occurred to me that a lot of the static content can be missed and some folks may not know how to look through the toolset for stuff anyway, so here's the rundown on static content:

In general, better straight up loot will be found in dungeons in locked/trapped chests. You'll need some skills to get into them. Also everything is randomized in location, type, and even whether its there or not.

By Class:

Sorc/Wiz: Collect spell components for Sorcerous Sundries in North of BG. Most can only be found in dungeons. You'll have to have a certain spellcraft knowlege to get them, i suppose you could be a non-caster and get them too.

Cleric/Faith PCs: Corpses may appear in the woods, more likely in dungeons. If you are good and have a bless spell memorized you can bury and bless the corpse for XP. If you are evil you need the inverse spell (doom iirc?) to desecrate it. Neutral can go either way.

Ranger/Druid/Foresty types: Collect herbs. Can find these out and about, magpie mushrooms are in dungeons as well. Required to have some healing or survival to pick the herbs. Return them to the herbalist near BG: The Wide for money/xp.

Rogues: Opening chests in said dungeons. Loot is much better in there and are currently set to be unbashable until i find or build a bashing system i like. So you're the only way in for now. : )

Fighters: I suspect many of the above classes will need your help gaining entry to places with baddies.

Will update as things are added.
There's a place I like to hide
A doorway that I run through in the night
Relax child, you were there
But only didn't realize and you were scared
It's a place where you will learn
To face your fears, retrace the years
And ride the whims of your mind

Woe to the poor, neglected bard, the class of most awesome concept, but most lacking utility, and fie upon the builder who perpetuates that!

*shiftyglance*

Seriously, though, looks like some nifty stuffs. Well done. :D

I've actually got some great plans in store for the bard yet. In the meantime they do have nice skill access and can benefit from many of the above.

I was thinking about bashing yesterday, as you do.

In populated dungeons and the like, I think that doors and containers that are bashed should broadcast a radius based shout to hostiles. Seems silly that you can smack a door in, and all the bad guys are just roaming around the room, instead of clustered around the door in a prepared ambush. Same with chests. If you hear a noices in your house at night,, you investigate right?
