The negative 5 penalty is a huge negative that isn't clear to most players. Even if it doesn't carry from one round to the next it will get you killed real quick. When you are in a large group battle the script moves to fast to count the number of attacks directed at you. Using parry effectively in a big party isn't as easy as on the single player because of how many different things are going on.
I say let the poor people that chose parry because they didn't know any better have a remake.

p.s. As it mightnt have been obvious, but my silence in the standards thread is due to the fact I've come to the conclusion that with Improved parry taken, the skill is probably pretty decent.
