Re: The Penguin's Horde
We found the only item the last time was a Cloak for Fire Resistance 5/- .......they all chose Trailyn to have it.
Also........
Toliv has Animal AND Earth Domain.
It specifically says: "Can turn elementals like Undead."... i thought it was ALL elementals... It also is supposed to give Toliv some cool "earthy" spells he can pray for - but they don't appear in his spell list when choosing spells to pray for though...
Anyway. There's that cloak for Trailyn, and I "think" Toliv can turn Elementals. *shrugs*

Would be something worth testing ... IC if he's never had any formal experience in such, OOC if it's just a game engine thing.... before we go.Galadorn wrote: I "think" Toliv can turn Elementals. *shrugs*

Re: The Penguin's Horde
FYI, Murgen's idea was for a bridge of cloaks braced by the poles that would sit on top of the lava, perhaps even reinforced by the water walking spell to give it extra bouyancy. Lava is pretty thick, so if the cloaks don't burn up, it might be crossable. Now, if you are saying that the very air is enough to cook you, even with the (somewhat limited) protection of a resistance potion, then obviously toss the idea out of the window, or in the fire, as it were.
Of course, there would be ample opportunity for something to happen as folks are crossing even if the "bridge" does not burn up.
Just spitballin'

Keryn offers to make any sets of imp horns you bring her into a potion of elemental resistance ahead of time for the battle.
Currently laying the smackdown on Faerun as: Keryn Tel'Jora, who is XXX-TREME!!!.
Currently explaining the meaninglessness of it all as Vizian Nazyr.
Currently pointing out all other characters' shortcomings as Stephen the Archer.

What kind of cloaks? Just asking before assuming he meant 'normal' cloaks? on Lava? They'd instantly ingnite and disappear.... we be talking about 'lava' brah...Wild Wombat wrote:...idea was for a bridge of cloaks braced by the poles that would sit on top of the lava...

Should be more imps in the north of the city now. I messed up and accidentally got rid of them by forgetting to put brackets in a script. Fixed now!Senor T wrote:Keryn offers to make any sets of imp horns you bring her into a potion of elemental resistance ahead of time for the battle.
There's a place I like to hide
A doorway that I run through in the night
Relax child, you were there
But only didn't realize and you were scared
It's a place where you will learn
To face your fears, retrace the years
And ride the whims of your mind
A doorway that I run through in the night
Relax child, you were there
But only didn't realize and you were scared

Re: The Penguin's Horde
I just got the double entendre, Mr. T: we are the Penguin's Horde that is going after the Penguins Hoard. You are so punny!
Alright, if this is going to be the adventure for Friday night and the plan is for the lowbies to clear out level 1, I suggest that the lowbies start into Yntros(sp) as close to 8PM (US eastern) as possible - Aki's earliest start time. That way, we can hopefully clear that level and then let the highbies take over at a decent hour while we go and find some other mischief.
However, we are going to need potions to resist the freakin fire beetles, which the highbies may be reluctant to give since they are going to need them too.

Re: The Penguin's Horde
Well, to be honest, it's not about not wanting to share, it's that we have few potions left after last week.
Unless someone has been decimating the Imp population, we won't have the ingredients to brew a new batch.

Re: The Penguin's Horde
Hmm two points...
1. Yintros tends to repopulate in many areas fairly quickly. So do keep in mind that you may encounter critters on your way out at well.
2. Technically, we only need to travel to the access to the lower level, so clearing the entire level isn't a requirement per say.
Oh, a third point:
Bran isn't so sure about going back to Yintros. He thinks we could spend our dwindling resources to investigate more.
Or retrieve Levi's bones.

Re: The Penguin's Horde
Ig has not been briefed on Yintros, but it was not clear last week what the specific goal of driving deeper into fire and fire denizens was, beyond “because it’s there.”
Is there something other than the meta pile of loot that is the goal?

Re: The Penguin's Horde
1) I believe that this Yintros' quest is driven by Wayfarer... but I could be wrong. For some reason he needs to get to the bottom?
2) Re-spawning. Yeah, that is a problem, I had been assuming that since this is going to be DM'd the respawning would not occur on a massive scale ... and that is why I was thinking that it did, indeed, make sense to clear the entire level.
3) Levi. Murgen and I are still fairly muddles about the whole Levi plot. Yeah, we found a book and this whole thing has something to do with the portals (right?) but having jumped in so late in the game I am pretty rudderless, which combined with lack of mental acuity -mine, Murgen is sharp as a tack, he just has a slow puppet master - leads me to not really grok a lot about the plot.
4) All of the above said, I am not pushing this idea to go into Yintros. I am just going along with it since we lowbies gotta do something Friday!
