A Land Far Away

Is there a better UI for NWN1 out there? Admittedly, I am so rusty that I really am a n00b when it comes down to it, but I just couldn't do the simplest things like adjust my camera. None of the three settings were what I wanted! There may be no other choice but getting used to it, but I don't remember being so annoyed with the camera all those years ago.

However, I do remember there being a better UI being available (Charlies ?) - yes, I googled it but it is for NWN2.

There are probably things that I just have forgotten how to do that don't even need a better UI. Most important is to program in some hot keys to "/t ...". when a group of 3 fledgling PCs run into a lycanthrope, it would really nice to be able to yell "RUN!" without having to type it.

You can right-click on an empty quickslot and enter a message, that'll be used every time you use that quickslot.
There are a few preset messages as well.
If my memory is correct, it starts with the key "v".
For example, again IIRC, 'vxw' would be your character's laugh.

For adjusting the camera, I press the scroll wheel on my mouse and move the mouse around, release. That should adjust the camera.
I probably can help you better in-game with the interface.

Thanks Valn. I'll try assigning speech to a quickslot or three. And eventually I'll figure out the camera controls as well. I never was a fan of the voice commands since I frequently play without the sound effects anyway (less disturbing for Mrs. Wombat, )
