Temporary Retirement

Post by Galadorn »

Possible?
What do the DMs think, and curious as to what Players think also.

I'm bored. I want to run a new PC on WD/DF indefinitely. Without ditching, killing or retiring Toliv. And possibly someday go back to Toliv if new PC dies, or I retire or don't like the new PC.

Of course i'm not going to abuse the fundamentals of our community by tweaking the new PC with anything off Toliv, in fact, if I was allowed to do this, I would accept full retirement no turning back for Toliv if I even logged in with Toliv once after I make my new PC. Or something along those lines.

This is not some ploy to deck out a new PC, in fact, I would consider that ridiculous. I'd never do that even if I had an opportunity to.

Just throwing it out there. It's just a game, and i'm not trying to gain anything extra or trick anyone here.

Carry on!

Nope, there can be only one! Your DMs can only keep so much in their heads at once.

That said I'm happy to arrange a heroic death or retirement NPC.
There's a place I like to hide
A doorway that I run through in the night
Relax child, you were there
But only didn't realize and you were scared
It's a place where you will learn
To face your fears, retrace the years
And ride the whims of your mind

Hey Galadorn,
How about we just get you unbored? You’ve got a lot invested in William / Toliv already...there must be some storylines that we could poke around in that would get your interest back up. Even if its just tavern sharing some tales with a wide eyed youngin like Arryn or smashing through a couple of portals I’m there for you buddy! Let’s figure it out.

Cheers, Peter

Well there is a huge plot on DF waiting for Toliv to complete. If you can't get anyone to come along then we can do it with an NPC. Otherwise some other lucky PC will get a castle and a princess all to there own.

If you want to retire after the plot, Toliv would be a great NPC for the keep and chapel of Solonor.

Yuss. Toliv must attempt to save the Princess, and more importantly to him, the kidnapped high priest of Solonor who he believes is also captured in the same place. Dude in that tower got himself a little "Kiss The Girls" scenario going on, corrupt freak.

If Toliv lives through that tower scour, it might be time to hang up the quiver, although he was about to start on Ranger levels. We'll see. It's still very fun and all that's done by the DMs is greatly appreciative and exciting as always.

Put one of the old servers (or a part of one) up as an open application server? That would give us somewhere to do alternate PCs. Plus NWN1 is getting much more popular than NWN2 and it would be nice to snag a few new players.
Currently laying the smackdown on Faerun as: Keryn Tel'Jora, who is XXX-TREME!!!.
Currently explaining the meaninglessness of it all as Vizian Nazyr.
Currently pointing out all other characters' shortcomings as Stephen the Archer.

Everyone will cry "player dilution" - there was almost a 3rd server for NWN1 planned, Northern Cormyr? maybe? But some still would rather just one server to make sure whoever is logged in, means everyone can party up or run into each other and emote-RP.

After 4.0 is done next step is to try Skullport/Undermountain as a test platform for EE. It will be a good location for test chars to die. :)

We also didn't have a DM for that server. It takes a lot of commitment to get the mod up to speed. The DM has to know the mod, the lore, and the NPCs.
