I agree! The sooner we get a time set the better!Swift wrote:I know its early, but when might be the best time for everybody? I am thinking that the earlier we get a date set, the earlier people can start arranging the time off with employers, get money together for airfares (if needed) etc etc.
I'm personally hoping for very early february - say the first weekend (the 4th, I believe).

In the interest of nailing down the dates, which is something we need to do asap I think to make sure we are going ahead..
* Febs out for me folks... if the majority go for Feb I'll have to bow out this time.
* Mid - Late Jan??
* Early Mar??

I am going to be in Victoria (Geelong/Lorne) from Feb 8th to Feb 26th - so it would have been convenient to tack it on to either side of that - but don't mind if it is in Late Jan or Early March either.
We should still try and hit it around a Public Holiday. Is there any chance others can take the Jan 27th Friday off - to allow 4 days (Australia Day 26th Thursday - 29th Sunday) ??
Yes or No - that weekend looks like it may fit the best...

Id actually have to take the following monday off as well, seeing as i start work at midnite monday.Bool wrote:We should still try and hit it around a Public Holiday. I got the annual leave, and just like the last one, ill take a week off. I am fairly certain i can make that date, and i say we should try lock it in. For those working, that gives us 3 months to sort out the time off, which should be doable even for casuals.

If you cant make australia day, just fly down on the saturday for 2 days insteadDrankathar wrote:not australia day.. im not missing big day out for yall sorry
but id be happy for late january heck even early march
I think the australia day weekend would be great, whether its just the weekend, or all 4 days (australia day through to the sunday) or a mix of the 2 for everyone (Cant make 4? Make 2 instead!).
Either way, it would be good to get the date hashed out now, mainly for Rotkus benefit. He is showing a willingness to fly from NZ, and i reckon we should try get him to ALFACon since he missed the last one.
Im all good for the 4 days if needs be
