The Black Knight of Tyr: Teia

Post by Killthorne »

The girl tucked her golden hair behind her slightly pointed ears and tied it's length in a cord of leather. She spat to the side and drew forth her longsword, gleaming with holy light, from the sheath at her hip. She grinned bravely across the way at her opponent who stood, looking rather unsure about his mettle. A Zhentarim soldier, a man; someone who thought he could beat the mighty Teia Killthorne!

She swung her Tyrran shield to the front of her, and charged the man full force, her sword angled low at her side. The man dodged effortlessly and rolled to the side, his face revealing the surprise of her ferocity. She charged forward abit past, but quickly dug her heels to reverse her momentum, and angled her path back at the Zhentarim dog.

" Die, you Bane-worshippin' Tyrant!!" Teia swung her sword hard and fast at the man, his only defense was his evasive manuevering and sheer luck at deflecting her attacks with his own foul longsword of evil. Steel clashed, as they both watched each other's movements with the most serious of minds and fiercest of faces.

" I'm no Banite!" The man squealed back, and Teia's focus faltered as she became thoughtful. She swung again, with less attempt, missing him again, as he leapt backwards into a slight crouch. She stared him down for any truth to his eyes, her defensive posture softening.

He charged her, growling briefly. He collided his shoulder with her at her waist, and buckled her in half, sending her back five feet onto her back. Her sword flailed away from her loose finger tips, her focus clearly shaken by the man's new betrayal. She laid on the grass dazed for a moment, and then frowned at her predicament. He lied to her!

And then Teia saw it, the shadow blocking the sun, lunging above and on top of her. Instinctively, and with all her strength, she caught the man coming down on top of her with a solid kick to the man's torso, deflecting him up and over her. The man flipped over mid-air and flew several feet behind her, before falling flat onto his back, yelping as the air escaped forcefully out of his lungs. Suddenly a concerned expression came across Teia's face, and she rolled over and rushed to the man's side.

"Xavien?" The girl looked down, her face filled with worry, at the blue-faced, half-elf boy unable to speak or move, that was her twin brother. " Are you alright?" She unstrapped the belt at her arm and tossed her small wooden buckler over to the side, where her small stick sword laid on the ground, and kneeled near the boy. He gasped to breathe, his face slowly taking color once more. " I'm so sorry!" She looked at him sadly, obviously disappointed in herself at how brutal she had become.

" It's... alright.. " Xavien wheezed softly as he smiled barely up at her. " I'm..... fine." He laboured for normal breathing, for a few more seconds, and just laid there on the grass, unmoving. He smiled up at her still, noticing her face becoming all the more puzzled.

Then she frowned again. " You know.. I need ta' be more careful." She looked at his face with seriousness, but he giggled at her playfully. She could not help but smile in return, though her brow still showed her attempt at apologies.

" You're so tough Teia!" Xavien admitted with a big grin.

She blushed at the compliment. She messed up her brother's hair, rose to her feet, helped him up, and smiled at him appreciatively. Teia had been practicing all along. All of her time was spent fighting giants.. and gnolls... and Zhentarim soldiers.
