Diplomacy 101 (III)

Post by Zer00 »

They struck as a pair, both slashing the air with their longswords, snarling and hungring at me. I managed to jump backwards just at the right time.
They began to create a circle of some around me, walking as one body, just in two limbs.

Again they attempted to strike, I spinned myself on my left leg sending my arms to each of my sides in order to block their blades.
The sound of steel clashing could be heard. It was beautiful. Nothing I could ever describe would compare to this sound.

Over and over, repeatidly they tried again and again to attack, each time in a different angle, but the attacks remained nearly the same. And all this time, I kept my mind in another place, focused on the female of them, standing there,
Studying, lurking, licking her fangs every once in a while as if entrhilled and aroused with the ongoing battle.

- "Now!" I heard the voice, as if it tried to give me the timing for my oncoming idea, I crouched as quickly as possible, rolling forward I managed to catch in a glimpse the dou musicians strike eachother with their instrument, Heh... what a sight it was.

Falling to the ground, still having short spasms from time to time, their bodies lay silent with the amusingly surprised face of a caught in-the-act pervert, I could not help myself but chuckle for a moment, turning my look to the lady.

- "Well done." She smiled deviously. "They were quite the pair, Amusing the way they died."

- "Are you after my group?" I asked, it was a silly question I guess, of course she were, heh.

- "Well, not for any other reason than for having dinner. You seemed like an easy target, apperantly we were wrong." At least she was honest.

- "So now what?" I asked, drawing small circles on the ground with my blade, not sure if I actually even want to fight her.

- "Well, unless you could appoint me to an easier dinner, I guess we'll have to fight. For me to have my dinner, and for you to see tomorrow." She said, staring at her nails for a moment, are woman like this even when undead? sigh.

And then there was silence, both sides looking around, thinking for a moment.

- "She's scared, can't you smell the fear around her?" The voice whispered softly behind my mind.

- "What?" I replied. What scent was the voice speaking of?

- "Close your eyes for a moment, Think as the predator, and not as the hunted." He whispered again.

- "But what about the Vampress? wouldnt she attempt to attack me?" I asked, I mean, wouldn't anyone try to attack an opponent whose eyes were wide-shut?

- "She's scared, even frightened of you. she wouldn't dare to attack." He replied again.

And so I closed my eyes, sniffing the air deeply.

I could actually see her, I mean, I could see her shape even though my eyes were wide-shut in the dark forest.
Her shape reaked of fear... I cant exactly explain the way it smelled, perhaps I could best describe it as the smell of a bad-wine with a pint of a dead animal in it.

I opened my eyes, and suddenly an idea came to mind. a wicked smirk appeared on my face as I opened my mouth and spoke.

- "I have an offer for you." I said with an authoritive voice, heh.

- "Oh?" She seemed to be interested. I could notice that by the fact that she stopped looking at her rotting-away nails and turned her look towards me for a moment, how lovely of her.

- "How about we both gain something out of this?" I asked, then coughed for a moment covering my mouth with my left fist.

- "Please tell." Her tone suddenly changed, and so did her "tough" attitude.

- "Your'e hungry, arent you?" I asked with a grin that could be seen even through the night...
