Band of Hardy Trav’lers
East of the town called Littleton,
Where prowl hounds and undead,
A band of hardy trav’lers met
A giant with two heads.
With spells prepared and arrows notched
And traps set on the ground,
This band of hardy trav’lers sought
The giant to surround.
The first shot flew and then a hail
Of missles met the beast.
The band of hardy trav’lers fought
Until its breathing ceased.
The giant down, the battle done,
They’d dealt and received pain.
The band of hardy trav’lers, though,
Had lost a member – Rain.
Their simple plan had gone awry –
To shoot him from all sides.
This band of hardy trav’lers learned
“A giant has long strides.”
Dragos the Mad
A host, at his dinner debut,
While serving cold dumplings and stew,
Attempted to cast spells he knew
And turned all the invitees blue.
‘Tis Dragos the Mad, I say!
A mage with a bad case of gout,
Attempting to dispel a drought,
Persuaded the clouds to come out,
And rain moray eels all about.
‘Tis Dragos the Mad, I say!
A passing healer I once knew,
Claiming he could cure the ague,
But must have caused a miscue
Now cows neigh and horses go moo!
‘Tis Dragos the Mad, I say!
Dragos the Mad, isn’t so bad
I think he’s more comic relief!
But ask about and you’ll find out
Mine’s not the widely-held belief.
Scardale Trek
From Thunderstone to far off Scardale –
Known as a quite perilous trek.
It’s not for the feint or weak-hearted.
Unsuitable if you’re a wreck.
I recently made the trip myself
Along with a well-armored crew.
Amazed I was with all the clanking
They made and the creatures it drew.
Accosted by lizards an bugbears –
Harassed by them to the border.
An then, when we found the pass blocked there,
One of our group shouted, “Hordor!”
‘Twas late so we camped for the evening,
shared fish and melodious charm.
Then someone, the obvious, stated,
“We’ve got to return to the Arm.”
So, weary and laden as we were,
We set off retracing our track
And swore, as we departed the wilds,
“We’ll think twice before coming back.”
