Tottespiel's Song for Triel

Sad eyed one, forsaken soul,
What gift have I to make you whole?
What price is set for your parole?
What key unlocks your cell?
What hardened heart your own betrayed?
What lies were told and games were played?
How far from kindness have you strayed,
Oh, you, who loved so well.

If I could I'd gladly cure
You of the pains that you endure;
Somehow forfend and well abjure
Your panoply of woes.
But helpless and uncertain how,
Your sorrows all to disavow,
Beyond what means you will allow,
As you writhe in torment's throes.

One shoulder here I have to offer,
That you need not alone suffer,
A friend I'll be, you need no lover.
Take of me what you will.
For sorrow shared is woe diminished,
And when the time to weep is finished,
Your cheeks need be by tears unblemished,
And I may yet be here.
