Alleina Krown

Post by Joos »

I lost her a long time ago. However, those that was involved with her are either dead or has found redemption. So this is my story of Alleina Krown, my most precious character so far.
-- ------------
Prologue
The little girl lied perfectly still. She dared not even breathe for a long time. She heard the noises of the humanoids gruffing sounds as they went through the houses, looking for something. She did not understand what they were saying. Even though it was perfect dark, she kept her eyes tightly closed. It didn’t matter.
Suddenly she felt something in her forehead, something moist. “The red inside…” the young girl thought.

“Rivven... Waele lu' yibin!”
“Ke lotha dalninuk. Zhaun nindel l' orbb valsharess morfethen dos mzild gareth taga jala shinduago tupora aterruce. Du'ased tlu ilta kaas!”
“Siyo Jabbress, du'ased tlu ilta kaas.”

The raiders raspy voices, the first male, the other female disappeared into the night. The young girl however, only snuggled closer to the body beside her. It was cold. It didn’t matter. The broken body of her father had saved her. She was safe. She felt safe. The dizzy feeling of terror had quickly receded when she realized that if she just acted the same way that her father did, she would be safe. She smiled to herself as she lay beside the dead bodies of her family. Then she dreamed. She did not remember what she dreamed about, but it marked her forever.

Chapter 1
“I found you alone in the forest with your fate wrapped around you like a kings cape. Thus I found you, thus I will give you a name. You will be Alleina Krown. Alone you were found and proud you walk. Thus it will be, child.”
“Yes Mother.” The small girl who had just washed of the blood of her body answered the pale, dark haired woman who had happened upon her in the forest. “Why did she call her mother?” she thought. My mother lies dead, with father… Dead... The thought clung, as she yet again thought about the dead piled around her, hiding her, saving her from death itself.

Chapter 2
“Alleina, you know you are not allowed into that part of the library. Only the Headmaster of the temple is allowed there!” the acolyte of Oghma chided.
Alleina slowly turned around and answered her assailant coldly: “But I do not find the current books the mistress assorts me interesting any longer. I need to explore further. I want to…”
“You are doing exactly as the headmistress tells you! Really, I am getting rather tired of keeping my eyes on you while you keep trying to sneak in here all…”
The young girl, now in her teens, shut the scolding of the Acolyte out. She was used to it now. Her thought wandered as they usually did when she was upset. ”Don’t they realize that I want more? I need more. Why would ‘Mother’ (why did she never tell me her name?) leave me here if it wasn’t to learn?”

Chapter 3
Alleina raced through the forest. Her lungs burned with the effort, but she kept pushing on. The branches of the underbrush kept tearing at her face and arms, but she kept running, pressing a bolt of cloth to her chest. Her heart pounded fiercely as the jubilant words sung through her head: “I have it! I have it!”
After running out of the city of Loudwater into the forest for almost two hours straight, Alleina collapses under a big tree. After a few minutes of resting, she unfolds her treasure. Under the wraps of cloth lies her long sought after treasure. It is neither very large nor very thick. But black cover of the book seems to radiate a silent song, a resonance in Alleina heart which she has felt all her time in the Temple of Lore since ‘Mother’ left her there, many years ago. Now she knew why. Expectantly, she opened the black pages and started reading. It wasn’t until many weeks after; she realized that she had read the pages long into the evening. And there had been no moon out. Yet the words burned into her mind like fire, never to be erased.

“Lady of night, twin of creation

Many question the existence of anything prior to the great Lord and Creator Ao. Paradoxically, the Lady of Night, or Shar as she is named to those blessed by provenance, is closely tied to the shrouded nothingness that “existed” prior to Ao's act of creation. Shar reflects the primal dark, the flawless void erased at the beginning of time…”

Hours passed, night turned into day, but Alleina’s darkness had just begun…

Chapter 4
“I have come for the one called Alleina.” The voice echoed between the pillars of the lofty temple. It struck Alleina as thunder as she was sweeping the floors, doing her daily chores. “Mother!” she thought. She dropped the broom on the floor and ran to the entrance where one of the acolytes had greeted the strange old woman she hadn’t seen in a decade. As woman she remembered as Mother distractedly waved the other young acolyte away, she looked Alleina up and down imperviously. “I see the flower has finally blossomed.” She said in a soft voice. “Come girl, we leave at once!”
With that, Alleina exited the temple as she was, leaving her old life and Loudwater city behind her. As they walked, night fell and the darkness grew thicker.

Chapter 5
The elven man cried. He had been crying ever since Mother had revealed what she truly was. She wanted this man for something. He had carried something with him. A part of a sword? She hadn't manages to quite make out what it was as Mother had ushered her away after having first responded with great fear as the white dressed.
“No matter,” she thought, “as long as the Dark Lady whispers to me in my dreams, he can fuel her power as long as he has life in him.” She fell asleep listening to Mothers chanting.

"Memory... Loss... Must forget!"
The elf cried in Alleinas dreams... "Aer'Shali [Elfbane] must stay hidden... Mistress forgive me..."

The next morning the man was gone. When asked, Mother only said that “The elf that came is gone but Arim’s seed has been planted anew, with a different purpose. He has a long way to walk if he is to find himself again. If ever…” With that she smiled and offered no further explanation.
Perplexed, Alleina continued her studies.

*blushes* Thank you. I will fill out with more chapters as I can at work. I
actually have to do some actual work from time to time as well.
