Let me tell you the tale,
the tale of courage that won the day,
the tale of a magnificent battle,
the tale of the Battle of Selgaunt Bay.

Eight hereos there were, who pirates now beware,
Men and Women from across Faerun,
First was Ando, who's skill in battle is more then rare,
He led the heroes, and left Mad John in ruin.

Then came Zauirc, the cleric wise and strong,
His blade surpassed only by his faith,
Next was Samir, who never stepped wrong,
His step as silent as an undead wraith.

Then came Ferrin, a halfing man who,
while his body was short, his spirit was stout,
Now came Willow, who alone can do,
enough to pirates to make them rout.

Next was Velisa, a lovely heroine,
whose blade cut men down to size,
Triel was next, face kept hidden,
thoughts of mystery, she caused to rise.

And last, was me, the teller of this tale,
a bard of no small skill, who is never uncouth,
and from what he is told, handsome as well,
I am Alec, who swears this tale is truth.

The bustling city harbor, Mad John had aimed,
two galleons, his roudy crew did ransack,
The Navy persued, Mad John would be maimed,
Valiant and Vengeance prepared to attack!

Both swords and spells do prepare,
Catapult and crossbow made ready,
plenty of danger for all to share,
the first shot is fired, before all are ready.

Flames spring up as Vengeance is hit,
the hereos inside rush to defend,
bolts and spells fly, as flaming arrows are lit,
the battle moves swiftly, to it's end.

Magic is at work, Vengeance is denied,
to far to board, the Corsair will remain,
More magic is brought, and the heroes do ride,
a spell that brings them to be, the pirate's bane.

Inside the Corsair's hold, the heroes appear,
Blade and spell made ready, the hereos charge!
And the pirtates fall as if they were deer,
And so Mad John suffers his first loss, so very large.

The Heroes searched the ship, thinking John did hide,
but Mad John had fled, a coward first and a pirate second,
he had jumped overboard while his men had died,
he swam as if the hells themselves beckoned.

And so the Navy won out the battle,
since the Heroes won the day,
I hope you enjoyed the tale,
of the Battle of Selgaunt Bay.
