After Acton Review:
Encountered a pair of adventurers preparing to enter the Baldur's Gate Sewers System near the Temple of Tempus along the city docks and offered my aid to them in an effort to learn more about the city's tunnel system and earn a share of what ever spoils there maybe. The handsome man named Darren was the obvious leader of the pair and the woman Ashera deffered to his judgement in every decision, going so far as to regularly ask him what should be done next.

As we traveled the sewers we encountered dozens of very large menacing rats of unusual size, and several corpses with puncture marks on their necks that Darren suspected may have been Vampire bites. The various corpses scattered through the sewers were void of any of value and ranged from large and bloated from the passage of time to some recently dead.

Darren is a handsome man with a commanding presence who wields his sword with exceptional strength, and is capable of enlarging himself. He though never answers the questions asked of him and instead answers questions adjacent to the ones asked. He appears capable and competent, if slippery and less then forthright.

Ashera is I suspect a Cleric, though she never answered any questions as to who it is she is a Cleric in service to. This may have been because she was over whelmed by the amount of rodents and corpses we encountered in the sewers, or because Darren did not tell her my questions were to be answered. She behaved as if every rodent and corpse encountered was another unexpected horrific surpise, leaving her trapped in a constant state of confusion in which she relied solely upon Darren to instruct her what to do next and how to do it.

Corrections to Make:
Learn about Vampires and find a means to prevent myself from ending up a bloated corpse in the drainage waters.

After Action Review:

I learned that a band of Adventurers were headed south towards Amn to combat Gnolls near the boarder, and I set out to offer my services in exchange for a fair share of the spoils. After following the trail of Gnoll and Hyena corpses I caught up to the band as they neared the fortified ruins that served as the main camp of the Gnolls.

I recognized some members of the band as Darren the Handsome and his companion Ashera, as well as Ay'ara the former archer and one eyed woman of Cormy who has since taken to studying Arcana and claims she hope to in time return home to serve as a War Wizard. There were others as well who's names I did not learn until later and some who's names I still do not know.

Being recognized by some of the band I was welcomed to join them and did so, though Darick did ask in an off handed manner if I was a Zhent. I am uncertain if this was perhaps some attempt at dark humor, or if there is a reason he suspects I or others crossing his path may perhaps be Zhents.

As the band advanced I did my best to understand their means and methods, so I may adopt to their tactics and team work. What I found was as impressive as it was reckless. The band of them relied solely upon the skill of arms of the front line combatants and their willingness to charge the enemy with determination and valor at ever single encounter. It was a reckless tactic could have proved disastrous should the Gnolls had used any number of methods to counter the repeated charge to Melee, it though was impressive because the melee combatants fought impressive skill, endurance, power, and prowess.

In the end the band managed to combat their way through the Gnoll encampment despite increasingly heavy resistance, and claim the prize they had been hired to claim. A crystal cauldron that the Gnolls had filled with blood and gore. I inquired about the properties of the crystal cauldron and learned none present knew what it may do or why it was desired by their Patron. A divination was used to determine the cauldron lacked any apparent magical properties and we saw it delivered to Jaffee Mesidia who runs a shop in Baldur's Gate that specializes in rare objects of exotic origins.

Notes:

Darren the Handsome and Darrick the Black are both dangerous men with steel in their hands and the pair of them tended to work together in unison breaking to the left with each advancing charge.

Rahkori the Half Orc Warrior Woman of Illimater appeared to often break right with each advancing charge and fought with an unwavering religious zeal.

Ashera wore a new set of Armor since I saw her a few days passed and her religious devotions remain mysterious to myself.

Ay'ara proved a capable Archer despite her missing eye and was prepared to investigate the Crystal Cauldron with divination as soon as questions were raised about it.

There was a sixth as well who was not introduced to myself appeared to be a capable archer and perhaps a scout.

Corrections:

This band while filled with a variety of brave and capable individuals, as a whole they displayed a disturbing lack of team work and tactics in their actions. In future operations together I will strive to further earn their trust and work to steer them towards working as a small tactically capable team, instead of the band of capable individuals they currently operate as.

At a minimal they need both a Scout to insure the lot of them do not charge into a situation they can not fight their way out of, and a designated combat healer needs to be decided upon to make a sincere effort to keep everyone on their feet.

There existed a few Werewolves among the Gnolls, and my arrows and steel proved ineffective against such.

+300 Gold Coins

Bertha Wald, a human woman of low income, entered the Blade and Stars seeking information about her husband Dal Wald who had been missing for two days. A band of us consisting of Zelon Hawk, Rahkori, Darick, Darren, and myself agreed to lend our aid to her cause and help her find her missing husband.

We learned that Dal Wald was a dark haired man with a neat mustache who often worked odd jobs about the docks and taverns of the city in an effort to support him and his wife. It was while working at the Three Kegs to help unload a sizable delivery of Food & Drink that Dal Wald went missing.

We interviewed the Bartender and a Waiter at the Three Kegs to learn that Dal Wald, in the chaos of the rushed schedule to see everything unloaded and properly stored in the basement, left without collecting his due pay. News of such prompted us investigate the area he had worked in to see if there was any evidence to suggest why he may have left without collecting his coins.

Within the Basement of the Three Kegs we found a Sewer Grate that appeared to have been partially obfuscated with debris in an effort to conceal its existence. The arrangement of debris suggested someone or something from beneath the sewer grate had reached up to make the arrangement. Working under the assumption that during the hectic work of unloading and storing supplies something from the Sewers took Dal Wald below and tried to conceal its tracks, we decide to enter the Sewers through the grate.

We entered a small section of Sewers I had never before seen and found a few old corpses floating in the filth before we discovered a concealed passage in the stone work. After traversing through this concealed passage we entered a much larger section of Sewers with a sizable center chamber and several tunnels leading off to separate smaller chambers. Almost immediately we were set upon by giant cockroaches, and then a sizable horde of undead that appeared to be well armored zombies created from perhaps the corpses of other adventurers or other men at arms long passed.

At times the fighting was pitched, though Darren and Darick proved a capable front line while Zelon, Rahkori, and myself did our best to provide support through ranged weapons and healing. In time we slowly made our way through the network of tunnels encountering a variety of Undead and monstrous vermin to include a giant centipede and various oozes.

Despite discovering several corpses, we never did find Dal Wald. Though after engaging a pair of Vampires who fled from us we did find a Note from Dal Wald requesting he be provided more time to find the painting he was searching for. The note bore the symbol of a Hand, a symbol used by a local merchant named Geoffrey.

In the end we recovered some spoils from the Undead and reported our lack of findings to Bertha Wald. Darren has said he would speak with Geoffrey in an effort to see what can be learned of Dal Wald's recovered missive.

Notes: As a team we need to discuss our battle placement within tunnel networks. Several times the Vanguard placed themselves in a position that minimalized the Support Element's ablity to place effective ranged fire upon the enemy.
