Re: Organizing loot distribution
I have taken some of the gems, about 400 gold coins worth. spent 300 to get a new potion of invisibility following the events of the previous day battling storm-bandit-mages.

Re: Organizing loot distribution
Followup to last night's session lootwise:
Aglaril will inform the group that he discovered a rapier of rather strong enchantment (+2) after an extensive search of a few specific spots in the mother croc's den.
He also found a magical bag of moderate enchantment (40% weight reduction).
He'll advise the group that especially given the level of high stakes the group is dealing with, it's likely in the best interests of everyone that items be distributed in a manner that best enhances everyone's chance of survival and success. i.e. the rapier should go to whoever can make the best/most use out of it, same with the bag, as the group consensus so far seems to favor such method.
The elf would express some interest in the bag, and would offer his current slightly magical bag (20% weight reduction) plus some coin to the pot in exchange if needed, though he's quite willing to let it go to someone else who needs it more. Horatio currently holds the weapon as he was the only one that accompanied Ag back to Rillfane's Run and is one member of the group that uses rapiers.
"Recent discoveries seem to suggest habitually and more thoroughly searching various key areas we investigate is warranted. I could not allow myself to depart the den too hastily without such a search, and these ...are the results."

Layali picked up minor trinkets and adventuring gear (+1/+2 Skill Items) before her concern for Lily and the child grew and forced her to leave with them. May have also grabbed a gemstone, would have to double check.

Re: Organizing loot distribution
Horatio does carry the rapier, a good match to the rapier he already uses, though more generalized in it's use, and is growing rather attached to it.
Horatio also announced to the group as he was scanning quickly about the floor, he picked up a single malachite gem which he intends to keep to mark the day/victory. He has no interest in any of the other gems, coins or gear that was found, including the bag. As has been his way, a gem and an item are all he takes.
If someone is needing something specific, ask. It's possible he may be able to provide, like he did for the bard or the hin, or help. There might be a side plot that he will help with or back up on a personal quest. Never know, till you ask. Sometimes, some things change, and asking again is needed.

Re: Organizing loot distribution
One alternative mentioned was selling the rapier and dividing the coin for say, crafting costs for items that can benefit several people. I'm also thinking of Horatio's comments last night making it sound like he was planning on sticking more with archery, and the new rapier didn't seem like a significant upgrade. You obviously lose 50% of the value on resale vs someone keeping it and making good use out of it.
We're currently without a divine caster if Mal is out of the picture; it's a serious weakness and it may become more important to shore up overall group strength with either x/day divine spell items, major healing items, stat enhancement items, etc. One alternative to a divine caster's heals and protections is to kill things quicker before they do unpleasant things.
Same goes for the 40% bag; as useful as it might be, the potential value of selling it and getting coin for better gear might need to be considered.
We may need to start going over places with a fine toothed comb even though it slows down gameplay and we might be tired at the end of a session; the trend seems to be that a fair amount of loot will be missed if we're looking only for chests and obvious places.

Re: Organizing loot distribution
If people can use the gear/its an upgrade over what they're using now, I'd rather see them use it then have 4000ish gp split amongst 7 people.

..an old Druid in the region was well known for imbuing items with great power in the past for very reasonable prices... ..he may still be around to help out if needed...Ithildur wrote:One alternative mentioned was selling the rapier and dividing the coin for say, crafting costs for items that can benefit several people...
((just giving you stalwart adventurers another option is completely all i'm saying - no need to read anything further into the suggestion above, plus Bu is saving up gold for a very long term possible project of his own so could use the profit, as small as that might be... truly just an option... i know your group already has a crafter. I have already been told how rare or even impossible crafting magic items is on ALFA is these days, which is unfortunate really... at least 2 of Bu's feats and literally years of RP have been dedicated towards his crafting including his weapon/armor/wondrous item crafting cave, but that's a risk I had to take. love you all))

Re: Organizing loot distribution
(Added to the chest were half a dozen gems given to Aglaril from the Lewyrr as tokens of thanks. It was mentioned ingame that the Lewyrr had rewards prepared for the rest of the group, but upon seeing that no one but Aglaril and Arizma were present to report, apparently rewarded only the two.)
1 fire opal (1000gp value in 3.5, not sure of their value in alfa)
1 jade (100gp)
3 violet garnets (500gp each)
1 red tears (1000gp?)

After realizing how much misery she is suffering following the child instead of remaining in Lewyrr, Layali is very, very upset and wishing she had stayed to get a reward - 'cause this emotional trauma is not worth it.Ithildur wrote:(Added to the chest were half a dozen gems given to Aglaril from the Lewyrr as tokens of thanks. Re: Organizing loot distribution
But she does have a new 40% magic purse, that's gotta count for something!
Do MS shops account for Appraise at all? I can't remember whether that was dropped across ALFA or not.
We have some liquid assets currently, and may be getting about 4k or so more soon. Any thoughts on urgent/high priority items?

Arizma declined any monetary reward from the elders, as she did not venture against the momma croc and her brood. Others should use those gems to equip themselves.

Horatio would wave them off as well. Though, let it be known that he has a diamond of size and quality needed by a priest to return the fallen back from the dead. Consider it party owned.

Did the rapier end up getting sold? I mean if no one else wants it......
Oh by the way..Toby can craft as well, and maintains a decent workbench back at his home in Corwell, so if people want to have him craft something during our downtime there is that.
